Truckers, Assemble! Ram Nation Volunteer Corps Established
There have been countless examples all over the world of truck owners going above and beyond the call of duty to help out fellow travelers in need, and that goes double for those who drive powerful Ram pickups. Whether it’s an act as simple as jump-starting a dead battery or as impactful as transporting badly needed food and supplies across hundreds of miles, there’s something about these people that inspires them to become Good Samaritans. Ram Trucks decided to tap into these neighborly instincts through a brand-new initiative, Ram Nation.
Ram Nation was created to help Ram owners and dealers unite for community service and disaster relief efforts. Like-minded citizens will link up to do things like deliver tools, transport supplies, tow away debris and wreckage and hand out food and water. Ram Nation members can also help by donating to support those in need, whether they live around the block or across the world.
The initiative was inspired by the events following the 2012 multiple-vortex tornado in Joplin, MO. The town was violently assaulted by the storm, and Ram drivers pulled up in their trucks and asked locals how they could be of assistance. Ram Trucks noted this touching outpouring of support and began to search for ways to foster that spirit of helpfulness throughout its customer base to turn it into a kind of network that could be mobilized in other situations.
“Ram truck owners have a strong sense of community and have the knowhow, skillset and willingness to give back,” noted Bob Hegbloom, President and CEO – Ram Truck Brand, FCA US LLC. “Ram Nation will make it easier for our owners and dealers to come together. We’d love to see this grassroots effort grow into a movement that will help people in need across America.”
