Dodge’s speedy, powerful cars and Chrysler’s famously versatile vehicles have been popular with U.S. shoppers for a number of years. The reasons are clear. They look good, they handle even better, and they can do a lot more than simply get you from point A to point B thanks to their myriad cool features. They’re also rock-solid vehicles in the eyes of J.D. Power. The company just released its 2016 U.S. Vehicle Dependability Study which ranks all companies based on their vehicles.

In this comprehensive study, J.D. Power asks for feedback from thousands of car owners. Then, the company assigns each automaker a particular score based on the number of problems experienced per 100 vehicles (PP100). The PP100 score is used to rank each brand in terms of general dependability. Lower scores translate to a higher rank overall. For 2016, J.D. Power requested feedback from owners of 2013 model-year vehicles. In the end, 177 specific problem symptoms were grouped into eight categories.

The FIAT Chrysler brand did well for itself, with a few standout models shining particularly brightly and earning Top 3 placement. The spirited Dodge Challenger cleaned up in the rankings, besting all but two models to earn the distinction of third most dependable midsize sporty car. Not to be outdone, the Chrysler Town & Country was also a star, named second most dependable model out of all minivans on the road today. Over 33,000 drivers provided feedback for this year’s study, which means that these vehicles were seriously well crafted.
